The 2026 Master Plan reexamination
The township is rewriting the document that sets its land-use goals, funded by a Plan4HealthNJ grant and due for adoption by March 2027. Public engagement has closed; a draft is expected in early November 2026.
What happens next
The draft is due in early November. The planner said the Board would likely take it up at the beginning of December; adoption needs a noticed public hearing.
New Jersey requires the Planning Board to reexamine the Master Plan at least every ten years. Montgomery’s last reexamination was in 2017. The 2026 report is being written by Tara Kenyon of Kenyon Planning under a one-year, $50,000 Plan4HealthNJ grant, and must say how the township’s redevelopment plans fit the master plan.
Surveys and listening sessions ran from the summer to October 8. Residents’ top concern, the planner said, was getting around without a car.
